Sergio Sanchez Ortega is a Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Malaga. He is a defender.
Sanchez is a product of the youth system of Espanyol and made his debut with the senior time in April 2005 against Real Zaragoza in a 3-1 home win.
In January 2007 he was loaned out to the Spanish Segunda Division side Real Madrid Castilla and was loaned out to Racing Santander for the 2007-2008 season and was vital in leading Santander to UEFA Cup qualification.

In the summer of 2008, Sergio Sanchez was recalled to Espanyol and a year later he earned a move to Andalucian giants Sevilla. Two seasons later, he was signed by Malaga but has failed to play regularly for them.
