Jonathan Tah is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Germany National Team.

Jonathan Glao Tah was born on February 11, 1996, in Hamburg, Germany. The commanding defender stands 195 cm (6 ft 5 in) tall.

He began his footballing education in the local clubs of Hamburg before rising through the ranks to become one of the country's most reliable defenders.

Career

Tah made his professional debut with Hamburger SV before spending a loan spell at Fortuna Düsseldorf. In 2015, he joined Bayer Leverkusen, where he would spend a decade and evolve into a key figure for the club.

His tenure at Leverkusen culminated in a historic 2023–24 campaign, where he helped the team win the Bundesliga title, the DFB-Pokal, and reach the UEFA Europa League final. His consistent performances earned him multiple selections in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.

In 2025, Tah moved to Bayern Munich, quickly securing his first trophy with the club by winning the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup. Internationally, he captained Germany at various youth levels and was awarded the Fritz Walter Medal U19 Gold in 2015.
