Mariano Damian Barbosa is a young Argentine footballer who currently features for the Spanish football club Recreativo de Huelva. He features as a goalkeeper.
Mariano Barbosa made his debut in professional club football for Argentine side Club Atletico Banfield in 2002 and played for them until 2005 and made 38 league appearances for them.
In the summer of 2005 Barbosa was signed by Spanish club Villarreal for 2 million euros and although he was impressive in his limited first team appearances for the Yellow Submarine, he was allowed to leave at the start of the 2007-2008 season. Barbosa then joined Recreativo de Huelva.

In 2009, Barbosa became a part of the Estudiantes lineup and will be fighting for the first-choice keeper’s spot.
Mariano Barbosa holds an Argentine passport as well as an Italian one. He was the reserve goalkeeper in the Argentine Under-20 team that reached the semi finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2003.
