Alexander Buttner is a Dutch football player who currently features for the English and European giants Manchester United. He plays as a left-back.
Buttner commenced his professional club football career at Dutch club Vitesse in 2008 and played for them until 2012, scoring 10 goals in 107 league appearances. He established himself as one of the best left-back in the country.
In August 2012 Buttner was signed by Manchester United on a five-year contract and was given the number 28 shirt. However, he struggled in his first season in the Premier League, although he did win the winners’ medal at the end of the campaign.
Buttner has played for the Netherlands Under-20 and Under-21 sides.
