Leandro Damiao da Silva dos Santos is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a striker. Leandro began his playing career at the youth academy at Atletico Tubarao in 2008. The same year, he moved away to Atletico Ibirama and his performances were simply lighting up the entire football world. Damiao was quickly becoming one of the biggest talents of the modern era and in 2009, he moved to Internacional’s youth academy.

After 2010, Damiao took his first steps into the professional world and never looked back. He became a one of the regular members of the first team after a slow start, scoring 24 goals in 58 games and putting himself at the top of the pecking order. He was part of the team that went on to win the 2010 Copa Libertadores, the 2011 and 2012 Campeonato Gaucho titles and the Recopa Sudamericana title in 2011.

After making his debut for the senior Brazilian national team in 2011, Leandro has made 9 appearances and is on his way to becoming a permanent member of the national team. He was also named to the Under-23 national team but has yet to make an appearance for that side due to his involvement with the senior national team.
