Thiago Carleto Alves is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a defender in the left back position. Carleto began his playing career at the youth academy at Santos. From 2005 to 2007, he remained on the verge of getting into the first team but in was only in 2008 that Santos decided to give him a go.

Carleto played 10 games for Santos between 2007 and 2008, but it was his performances in the state league and for the reserve team that actually caught the eye of Valencia CF. The Spanish giants decided to come in and pick up Carleto, but things wouldn’t go down so well in Spain. Upon moving to Valencia, Carleto only played one game before spending most of his time with the reserves.

Carleto was loaned out to Elche CF in the Spanish second division, in 2009-10. He played 8 games and scored 2 goals, but would be returning to Brazil in 2010. Carleto signed with Sao Paulo in February, 2010, but after just two games for the rest of the year, moved to Clube Olimpia in 2011 on a loan move.

His search for regular football was still not working well as Olimpia only gave him 3 starts in the entire season. Later that same year, Carleto would go out on loan to America Futebol Clube, playing 14 games and scoring once.

In 2012, still unable to get a game a Sao Paulo, Carleto decided on another loan move, this time to Fluminense. Carleto is still looking to play his first game with the side.
