A professional football player from Brazil, Wagner Ferreira dos Santos plays as an attacking midfielder. In 2001, Wagner came into the limelight as a member of the youth academy at America Futebol Clube. He broke into the first team in 2002, and the Brazilian Under-20 international and Under-17 World Cup winner became an instant hit for the team. He played 124 games over three seasons, scoring 16 goals and making his mark on Brazilian football.

In 2004, Wagner moved to Cruzeiro and moved directly into the first team. Between 2004 and 2009, he spent 2007 on loan to Al-Itihad, but that wasn’t before he had racked up over 215 appearances for the team in the league, scoring about 36 goals. In 2009, Wagner moved to Russia and signed up with Lokomotiv Moscow but from 2009 to 2011, only played 21 games, scoring three times.

Wagner moved to Gaziantepspor in 2011 but only played 17 games before moving to Fluminense in 2012. Wagner has won the Golden Ball for the Brazilian league in 2006 and 2008.
