Thiago Neves Augusto is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as an attacking midfielder, slotting in behind the strikers. In 2005, Thiago began his playing career at Parana Clube. In his debut season, he made his mark with some excellent performances as well as three goals. He ended up playing 29 games for Parana, spending two of his three seasons out on loan.
However before Thiago could play regularly for Parana, he was sent out on loan to Vegalta Sendai, in2006, where he played 35 games scored 8 goals. The following year, he moved to Fluminense on loan, playing 33 games and scoring 12 goals. Thiago was extremely impressive with Fluminense and the team decided to sign him up following the 2007 season. However, in 2008, Thiago would just play 5 times for Fluminense before moving to Hamburger SV in Germany.
Between 2008 and 2009, Thiago only played 6 times for Hamburger as the club realised that Thiago wasn’t ready for European football. He was sent back to Fluminense on loan, where Thiago only played 9 more times before the end of the season. In 2009, he moved to Al-Hilal FC in Saudi Arabia and after 31 games for the club, with 17 goals, was sent on loan to Fluminense once again.
In 2011, during his loan spell, Thiago scored 12 goals in 33 games for Fluminense, scoring 12 goals and earning a regular-season contract with the club.
At the international level, Thiago was part of the Brazilian Under-23 squad in 2008 and after 7 caps with 3 goals, he was called up to the senior team where he played twice.
