Ygor Maciel Santiago is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder. Ygor began playing at Vasco da Gama, in 2003, and made an immediate impact on the first team. He was a regular pick for the side, playing over 180 games for the team in 5 seasons, scoring 11 goals too. He moved to Europe and to Norway, signing up with I. K. Start. His European stint was marred with injury and the struggle to make it into the first team of the club.
Ygor ended up playing just 26 games for the club, mostly as a substitute, and ended up being sent out on loan to Fluminese, in Brazil. During his 1.5 year loan spell, he played around 26 games for the side, before moving onto Portuguesa till the end of 2009. He ended the year with the same number of games for his new side, and this time, decided to move permanently to Brazil.
Ygor came over and signed a permanent deal with Figueirense and, since 2010, he’s been in and out of the starting line-up, playing only 29 games.
