Karim Matmour is a professional Algerian football player who was born on 25th June 1985 in Strasbourg, France. Presently, Karim plays as an attacking midfielder or as a forward for German 2. Bundesliga club, Eintracht Frankfurt other than the Algerian national football team.

Karim started his football career with RC Strasbourg, his hometown club and after his academy career, he was not given any contract professionally. He briefly played for Vauban Strasbourg team before leaving to Germany to join SC Freiburg’s reserve side. Eventually, he got promoted to the senior side, where he made 80 league appearances in 3 seasons in the 2. Bundesliga.

It was on 4th June 2008, when Matmour joined Borussia Monchengladbach, a Bundesliga club which was newly promoted, on a 4 year contract basis with this team paying his former club, SC Frieburg 2 million euro dollars, for the transfer.

He was observed by premier league duo Sunderland and Bolton during his performance at the Matmour’s World Cup. On 1st August 2010, because of his exceptional goal, his team won the game with 1-0 against Liverpool.

Matmour signed one year contract on 1st July 2011 with Eintracht Frankfurt team and the major teams that he has played so far include Vauban Strasbourg, RC Strasbourg, SC Frieburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt team other than Algeria national football team.
