A professional football player from Brazil, Fabio Deivson Lopes Maciel plays as a goalkeeper. A highly talented goalkeeper, Fabio made his debut with Uniao Bandeirante in 1997 and in his first season itself, made himself a regular member of the first team with 23 appearances. He moved to Atletico Paranaense the following season, and showed that he was capable of playing with the best in the game. He made 16 appearances for the team and moved on to sign with Cruzeiro in 1999.

Without getting much chance to play for the team, Fabio spent the next two seasons as the team’s second and third choice goalkeeper. In 2000, he moved to Vasco da Gama in search of regular playing time and got what he wanted. Slowly establishing himself with the first team over time, Fabio made over 80 appearances for the team before coming to Cruzeiro in 2005. Since then, Fabio has been the first choice keeper at the club, spending over 6 seasons and making almost 400 appearances for the first team in the league.

Fabio has been a part of the national team squad as well, especially during the Copa America triumph in 2004. He was also a member of the Under-17 world cup winning team in 1997. He has four winners’ medals from the Minas Gerais State League championships, from the time he has spent at Cruzeiro as well as a Brazilian league and cup title from his first stint at the club.
