Wesley de Morais

As a centre forward, Wesley Barbosa de Morais is one of the most lethal players in his team. His ability has been evident since his debut for Barretos, in 2002. For two seasons, Wesley shone in this lower league team, but was unable to win a ticket to the top teams. In 2004, he moved up, some rungs, to Itumbiara, where he stayed for another two seasons.

It seemed as if Wesley was destined for the lower leagues when he moved to Rio Preto Esporte Clube, in 2006. For another two seasons, Wesley was showing off his skills in those lower divisions, before Mirassol Futebol Clube spotted him in 2008.

Finally, with an opportunity that saw him travel on loan to Japan, to play for the Chunnam Dragons, and to Gremio Barueri, Wesley gave a solid account of his worth as a support striker and playmaker. His 13 goals and stellar performances for Gremio, over 45 games, in 2010 were the reason behind the Atletico Mineiro move to bring him to Brazilian top-flight football.

In 2011, Wesley signed up with Atletico Mineiro to be a part of the first team squad.
