Felipe Menezes
Felipe Menezes Jacomo is a professional football player from Brazil who plays as a midfielder with an attacking bent of mind. First making headlines with the youth team at Goais Esporte Clube, Felipe broke into the first team in 2007. For two seasons, he was one of the most dominant players on the pitch, despite his young age. He played over 60 games in two seasons, scoring seven goals on the way to garnering attention from Europe.
Europe came calling and Felipe signed up with Portuguese giants Benfica, in 2009. The youngster failed to make an impact and was used just 12 times in the league. At Benfica, Felipe did get a winners’ medal for the 2009-10 league title as well as the 2009-10 and 2010-11 League Cup.
Benfica believed that Felipe still needed some playing time at the highest level and, in 2011, was sent out on loan to Botafogo. An automatic first-team selection at the Brazilian club, Felipe has earned 20 appearances and scored 3 times on his loan deal so far.
