João Moutinho or João Filipe Iria Santos Moutinho is a Portuguese football player who plays for F.C. Porto, also being a Portuguese international. Mainly playing as a central midfielder, Joao can also play as a holding or as an attacking midfielder. His major teams include Portugal under 21, Portugal, Portimonense and Sporting CP teams.

At the age of 18, Moutinho, a Portugal international made his debut with the national squad in a 2-0 home friendly match victory against Egypt. Since 2006 FIFA World Cup, he became a regular call-up. In 2008, he made his first goal for the team over Georgia at Estadio do Fontelo in Viseu. He was picked for the men squad-23 for the UEFA Euro, and in the opening match, he assisted on a goal made by Raul Meireles in 2-0 victory against Turkey.

Moreover, Joao played in two UEFA European under 21 football championships, in 2006 against Germany. Though he was not a part of the provisional 24 player list for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Joao was named in the backup list of six players.
