Sergio Asenjo Andres is a young Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Atletico Madrid. He plays as a goalkeeper and is rated as one of the best young players in his position in Europe.

Asenjo developed through the youth ranks at Real Valladolid and made his senior debut in December 2007 against Villarreal in a Liga Liga match that saw them win 2-0. He would go on to make 23 more league appearances in the 2007-2008 season and was given his first professional contract by the club in 2008. He also became the youngest league goalkeeper in the 2007-2008 season.

Asenjo joined Atletico Madrid in 2009 and performed impressively. But injuries struck and he lost his place in the starting line-up to David de Gea and played on loan for Malaga for the second-half of the 2010-11 campaign.
