Helton da Silva Arruda is also known by the name, Helton and is a Brazilian football player. Helton plays for the F.C. Porto team as a goalkeeper in the Portuguese first division. Born in 1978 and standing at a height of 1.89 meters, Helton started his football career early through the Brazilian League and also the Mercosur Cup in 2000.
Post his game at the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1997, Helton was the member of the Brazilian team at the Summer Olympics in 2000. He received his first callup in 2006 to the main national side, when he started in an unofficial friendly match against Kuwait club, ‘Al Kuwait Kaifan’ in the month of October. He made his official debut in the month of November in a friendly match held with Switzerland.
Moreover, Arruda was a member of the national squad winning the 2007 Copa America, though he did not play any match in the entire game, as he was the second choice to Liverpool F. C’s Doni.

Individually, Arruda won the title of the Goalkeeper of the year award in 2007 in the Portuguese League. Whilst with the Vasco club, his team won the Rio de Janeiro State League in 1998, the Brazilian League, the Mercosur Cup and the Guanabara Cup in 2000 and the Rio Cup in 2001. When with the Porto club, his team won the Portuguese League in 2005–06, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09, 2010–11, the Portuguese Cup in 2005–06, 2008–09, 2009–10, 2010–11, the Portuguese Supercup in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011 and UEFA Europa League in 2010–11. The Porto team was the runner up of the UEFA Super Cup in 2011.
When playing for the Brazil team, his team won the Copa America in 2007.
