Olivier Giroud is a France international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Chelsea. He plays as a striker and is rated as one of the best in his position in Europe.
Career
Giroud commenced his professional club football career at Grenoble in 2005 and played for them until 2008, scoring just two goals in 23 league appearances. He was farmed out on loan to Istres in 2007-08 and he was a success that campaign, as he found the target 14 times in 33 league appearances.
In 2008 Tours signed Giroud and in the following two years the Frenchman scored 24 goals in 44 league matches. He then joined Montpellier and went on to become a success for them in the subsequent two seasons.

Giroud helped Montpellier win the Ligue 1 title in 2011-12 and was the topscorer in the French first division that season with 21 goals. He was also UNFP Ligue 2 Player of the Year in 2009-10.
He was signed by Arsenal in the summer of 2011 on a long-term contract for a transfer fee reported to be £12 million. Giroud has since been a success in the Premier League and has proved to be a crucial player for the Gunners.
Giroud made his international debut for France on November 11, 2011 against the USA in a friendly international. He was part of the France squad that played at the Euro 2012 finals.
After more than 250 appearances and over 100 goals for the Gunners, Giroud joined Chelsea in 2018. He was also part of the France side which won the 2018 World Cup.
