Matija Nastasic is a Serbia international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Manchester City. He plays as a centre-back and is regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe.
Nastasic is a product of the famous youth academy of Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade and was loaned out to Serbia’s second division club Teleoptik in 2010.
After a promising 2010-11 campaign in which he made 21 league appearances, Nastasic joined Fiorentina for a transfer fee of €2.5 million and made his debut for the Viola in Serie A on September 11, 2011 in a 2-0 win against Bologna.

He went on to establish himself as a regular central defender for Fiorentina in 2011-12, scoring two goals in 26 league matches. Nastasic earned himself a strong reputation across Europe with his displays and youthful exuberance and in the summer of 2012 was signed by Manchester City in a move that saw Fiorentina earn €15 million and the services of centre-back Stefan Savic.
Nastasic made his international debut for Serbia in 2012.
