Matias Silvestre is an Argentine football player who is currently on the books of Palermo. He plays as a central defender and is currently on loan at Italian giants Inter Milan.
Silvestre developed at the youth academy of Argentine giants Boca Juniors and made his first-team debut for them in 2003. He played for them for the next four years, scoring six goals in 63 league appearances.
In 2008 Catania came calling and signed him. Silvestre soon established himself in Italy and after scoring seven goals in 118 league appearances, joined their Sicilian rivals Palermo in 2011 for €7.3 million.
After an impressive 2011-12 campaign for Palermo, Silvestre was loaned out to Inter for the 2012-13 campaign.
