Born on 1 June 1986 in Enugu Nigeria, Chinedu “Edu” Ogbuke Obasi is a football player from Nigeria. He played as a second striker for German club 1899 Hoffenheim and has made seventeen appearances for the Nigerian football team.
He has incepted his career in 1997 with reserve team of River Lane Youth Club Enugu. After that he has played with various teams at the initial levels including Enugu Rangers, JC Raiders and Lyn in 2002, 2004 and 2005 respectively.
He has had several honors to its name including the Runner-up in FIFA World Youth Championship in 2005 and silver medal in football at the 2008 summer Olympics in 2008.
He has also earned some individual honors including Norweigan Premiere League Player of the month in 2006 and the Kniksen award for the Young player of the year in 2006.
Obasi has represented the Nigeria Nationall Football team and Under-20 level in 2005 scoring 4 goals in 19 matches. `
