Born on 20 February 1991 in Lome, Tobo, Peniel Kokou Malpa commonly known as Peniel Mapa is a Togolese born German footballer currently playing for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim as a striker.

He has commenced his career in 1997 with FC Unterföhring and has moved to 1860 Munich in 1999. He continued in the club for 10 years till 2009. Mlapa made his debut in professional debut on May 17 2009 and has scored his first senior goal for 1860 on 4th October against St. Paul. In the summer of 2010 Mlapa joined the Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, signing a contract for 3 years.

Mlapa has also represented the National football teams of Germany in U-18 and U-21 levels in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
