Juan Francisco Torres is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for the Spanish club Atletico Madrid. He is a versatile player who can play either as a right-sided midfielder or a right winger.

Torres graduated from the youth academy of the Spanish and European powerhouse Real Madrid and made his debut for the senior team in the 2003-2004 season, playing in five La Liga matches for the Merengues that season.

He was loaned out to Espanyol for the 2005-2006 season and in the summer of 2006, Real Madrid felt that they don’t need the services of the player and Osasuna signed him on a free transfer but on a preset fee of 10 million euros.

Torres soon established himself at Osasuna and became an important part of their defence, scoring 12 goals in 148 league matches between 2006 and 2011.

In 2011 Atletico signed Torres, who has since settled into the first team at the Estadio Vicente Calderon. He won the Europa League in 2011-12 and the UEFA Super Cup in 2012.

Torres led Spain to the UEFA U19 Championship and won the Golden Player award in the competition. He made his international debut for the senior team on May 26, 2012 against Serbia in a game that La Furia Roja won 2-0. Torres was part of the Spain squad that won Euro 2012.
