Hans Adu Sarpei is a Ghanian-German football player currently playing for Schalke 04 other than the Ghana National Football team as a defender.

In his youth, he was a part of youth teams of Chorweiler, Preußen Köln and Winfriedia Mülheim. He made his first professional debut in 1998 with Fortuna Koln where he continued to play for two years making 44 appearances. In 2000 he moved to MSV Duisburg scoring 1 goal in 20 appearances. In 2001 he left MSV Duisburg to join VfL Wolfsburg. He stayed with the club for six seasons and managed to make 140 appearances and 2 goals till 2007.

On 18 may 2007 he moved to Bayer Leverkusen signing a two year contract. In 2010 he moved to FC Schalke 04 and has made 9 appearances till date.

Sarpei is a squad member of the Ghana national football team and has participated at the 2006 World Cup as well as 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Sarpei also holds a German passport and hence has moved to Germany from Ghana in his childhood. Born on 28 June 1976, Sarpei is a younger brother of Edward, formerly a Bundesliga player playing for Köln and is playing currently for BP Worringen.

He has been able to achieve various honors to its name and to the teams he has played for in his many years of career. He has enabled Schalke 04 to enter DFB-Pokal in 2010-11. He was awarded with silver medal in Africa Cup of Nations in 2010 and with Bronze medal in Africa Cup of Nations in 2008. He was amongst the last 16 in FIFA World Cup in 2006 and has reached the Quarter Final in FIFA World Cup in 2010.
