Alessandro Costacurta is an Italian football defender who has in AC Milan and Italy’s national team.
He played center back with Paolo Maldini in AC Milan since 1987 (he signed in 1985 but was on loan to Monza 1986-87).
He also teamed up with his team mate in the Italian national side 1990-98. Costacurta has helped Milan win the Serie A seven times and the Champions League four times.
Although he was over forty years old he still performed at top level during his last season 2006/07. He was the oldest player to ever play in the Champions League until goalkeeper Marco Ballotto of Lazio beat his record on September 18, 2007.
As of 2007/08 he is the assistant coach to Carlo Ancelotti.
