André Dos Santos

Andre Clarindo dos Santos, popularly known simply as Andre Santos, is a Brazil international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Arsenal. He plays as a left-back and can also be deployed as a left winger.

Santos commenced his professional club football career at Brazilian giants Figueirense in 2004 and remained on their books until 2007, scoring 13 goals in 61 league appearances. During that time, he also played for Flamengo and Atletico Mineiro on loan.

In 2008 Santos was signed by Corinthians and he moved to Turkish giants Fenerbahce a year later after playing nine goals in 39 league matches. He was a success in Istanbul too, finding the target 10 times in 52 league fixtures, winning the Turkish Super Lig in 2010-11 and the Super Cup in 2009.

Santos was signed by Arsenal in August 2011 on a long-term contract, with Fenerbahce being paid €7 million. He has developed into a very important player for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Santos made his international debut for Brazil on June 15, 2009 against Egypt in a Fifa Confederations Cup and went on to win the competition with his country.
