Miguel Perez Cuesta, commonly known as Michu, is a Spanish football player who currently features for Premier League club Swansea City. He plays as a forward and can also feature as an attacking midfielder.
Michu developed at Spanish club Real Oviedo and made his debut for the first team in 2003. He was on their books until 2007, scoring 13 goals in 100 league appearances before moving to Celta de Vigo’s B team.
A season later Michu was promoted to Celta’s first team and established himself as a regular for the Galician outfit, finding the target 14 times in 101 league matches.
He stepped up a level at Rayo Vallecano in the 2011-12 campaign, scoring 15 goals in 37 La Liga appearances and earning the interest of a number of clubs from around Europe.
In the summer of 2012 Swansea signed Michu from Rayo for a transfer fee of £2 million and made his name in English top flight right from the start, scoring goals after goals for the Welsh club. He was also on target twice in their League Cup final triumph over Bradford City.
