Xabier Castillo Aranburu

Xabier Castillo Aranburu is a Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish football club Athletic Bilbao. He plays as a left-back.

Castillo commenced his professional club football career at Real Sociedad and played for the B team between 2004 and 2006, scoring two goals in 55 league appearances. Thereafter, he was promoted to the first team and soon established himself as a key player for the Basque side.

Castillo, who played on loan for Las Palmas on loan from Sociedad for the 2006-07 campaign, scored one goal in 71 appearances for Sociedad before moving to their Basque rivals Bilbao in 2009.

However, Castillo has failed to play regularly for Bilbao. He played one goal for the Spain Under-19 side, and that was in 2005.
