Thiago Alcantara is a Spain international football player who currently features for Liverpool. He plays as a midfielder and is rated as one of the most promising young players in the world.
Career
Thiago, the son of former Brazilian World Cup winner Mazinho, was born in Italy and grew up in Spain after moving to the Iberian nation at the age of five. He progressed through the youth ranks at Barcelona and played for the B team between 2007 and 2011.
Thiago made his first-team debut for Barcelona on May 17, 2009 when he was 18 years of age against Real Mallorca. He scored his first goal for the Blaugrana in a 4-0 victory over Racing Santander at Camp Nou. Thiago was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2011.
In 2013 he left Barcelona to join Bayern Munich where he spent seven years, making 235 appearances and winning the Bundesliga seven times.
In 2020 he left Bayern to join English champions Liverpool on a four-year deal.
Thiago made his international debut for Spain against Italy on August 10, 2011 in a friendly match.
