Sergio Canales is a young Spanish football player who currently features for the Spanish football club. He plays as an attacking midfielder and is rated as one of the most promising young players in Spain.
Canales developed at Racing Santander’s youth academy and played for the B team between 2008 and 2010. His talent and calibre soon earned him a promotion to the first team and he played regularly for the senior side in the 2009-10 campaign.
Real Madrid soon came calling and in February 2010 announced that they have stuck a deal to sign him from Racing at the end of the season for a reported €4.5 million. However, he failed to impress at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2010-11 and was sent on loan to Valencia for the 2011-12 campaign.
