Marouane Chamakh is a Morocco international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Arsenal. He plays as a striker.
Chamakh commenced his professional club football career at French outfit Bordeaux in 2002 and gradually established himself as one of the best and most promising forwards in Europe. He signed a three-year contract with them in 2002 after turning professional.
Chamakh continued to impress for Bordeaux and earned contracts with the club thereafter. He was the Ligue 1 title in 2008-09, the Coupe de la Ligue in 2007 and 2009 and the Trophee des champions in 2008 and 2009. He was also named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Year in 2009-10.

After 56 goals in 230 league appearances for Bordeaux, Chamakh was signed by Arsenal in the summer of 2010 on a free transfer. However, he has failed to establish himself as in the Gunners’ starting lineup on a regular basis.
Chamakh made his international debut for Morocco on February 12, 2003 in a friendly match against the Czech Republic. He led his country to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2004 and has played in over 60 international games for Morocco.
