Born May 11, 1984, Luis Robles is the goalkeeper for Karlsruher SC. Before turning pro he played for the Portland Pilots from 2002 to 2006 and started his soccer training at the Tucson Soccer academy under the guidance of Coach Wolfgang Weber. Robles was a star athlete, scoring a record of 346 saves in his college career. He has also played for the Boulder Rapids Reserve for two seasons.

Although he was drafted by D.C. United in 2007 Robles chose to joinKaiserslautern instead. He made his debut on October 17, 2008 against Rott Weiss Ahlen. He played the starter after an injury placed the team's starter Tobias Sippel out of commission for that match. Robles played sixteen games in his first season, outshining other rookies. He then joined the US Squad at the the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, causing him to miss the summer training with the team. This caused him to play backup again once the 2009-2010 season started. He made a few appearances in this season and was finally let go by the clu before he was quickly snatched up by Karlsruher SC.

Robles was invited to train with the US senior men's national team in 2009 and was later named to the US roster for the Confederations Cup. He made his debut on July 11, 2009 in a game against Haiti in the 2009 CONCACAF Golf Cup which ended with a 2-2 draw.
