Born on November 19, 1991, Gale Agbossoumonde is a soccer player who plays as a defender for Djurgarden. The Togo-lese born American footballer arrived in New York when he was eight, after fleeing war-torn Togo with his family. He attended Christian Brothers Academy where he played soccer for the school team and led the team to a NYC soccer championship runner up until the 9th grade.

He played one semester with the U-17 National Team before he joined the IMG Soccer academy in Bradenton. He immediately gained fame as one of the team's strongest players, both for his strategy and his effective use of his large frame. After graduating from IMG he went to Spain to undergo a series of trainings, attracting the attention of Atletico Madrid and other European football clubs. However, Agbossoumonde shunned all European offers and went to MLS, only to find face a contract for a salary lower than he expected. Wishing to go back to Europe, he then signed a contract with Traffic Sports, s since TS had European connections, and Miami FC on August 6, 2009. The player his pro debut soon after, appearing in matches for a total of six times in the season. On January 7, 2010 he joined the Portuguese Liga on a six month loan, before being sent to Djurgarden.

Agbossoumonde played for the US U-20 team and played in the 2009 CONCACAF U-20 Challenge in Trinidad and Tobago. He also helped the US Team qualify for the 2009 FIFA World Cup. He was invited for his first senior team call-up for the US team and played in his debut match with the senior team on November 17, 2010 against South Africa.
