Miguel Ángel Lozano Ayala, simply known as Miguel Ayala, is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for the Spanish club Real Betis. He is a central midfielder and played on loan for Levante during the 2007-2008 season.
Miguel Ayala made his professional career at his local club CE Sabadell in 1995 but his promise and talent caught the eye of the Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona who signed him in the summer of 1996. Although he stayed with the Catalan giants for the next three seasons, he was never a part of the first team set-up and had to play for the youth teams of Barcelona.
In 1999 Miguel Ayala moved to Levante and in the next three years that he played for them, he featured in 62 league matches. In 2001 he was signed by Malaga and made 131 league appearances for them until the summer of 2005 when he was signed by Real Betis for 2 million euros on a five-year contract.
