Michael Ryan McGlincheyimage:Michael McGlinchey |Michael McGlinchey is a football player who at present plays for Central Coast Mariners, an A-league club. Though he played for Scotland team at the age group level, he changed his attention to New Zealand, being his birth country at senior level.
Born in Wellington in New Zealand, Michael stands five feet nine inches tall. Some of the teams he played were Celtic from 2005 to 2007, Dunfermline Athletic from 2007 to 2008, Celtic again for one season from 2008-2009 and Central Coast Mariners from 2009-2010.
This New Zealand born midfielder made his debut at the age of 17 for the All Whites team. He made a good impression when playing in the three international matches for the national team, with a historic FIFA World Cup playoff victory against Bahrain and later on, against Mexico at a friendly match.
He played two matches for the Scotland team at the FIFA U-2- World Cup in 2007 against Nigeria and Costa Rica. By 2009, he got selected for the New Zealand All Whites team by Ricki Herbert, the manager of the team. Later on, he went ahead and made his national team debut against the Jordan team in 2009 in the month of September.
