Theofanis Gekasimage:Theofanis Gekas |Theofanis Gekas is a Greek football player who plays as a striker for German club, Eintracht Frankfurt and is known as the top goal scorer of the Greek League and the Bundesliga team. This top goal scorer scored 10 goals in the qualifying campaign of 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification of the Europe section in Greece. So far, he has made 49 international caps and 20 international goals.
His professional career started with a local club, AEL 1964. By 2001, having played for this club for three season, he moved to Kallithea FC team. In the first season itself, he got promoted to the first division of the Greek team, scoring 30 goals in 87 second division tournament.
Theofanis has played professional football for various teams. These include Larissa team (1998-2001), Kallithea (2001-05), Panathinaikos (2005-06), VFL Bochum (2006 07), Bayer Leverkusen (2007-09), Portsmouth (2009), Bayer Leverkusen again (2009) and Hertha BSC from 2010 onwards.

Theofanis won the award of the Greek Super league Top Goal scorer in 2004–05 and as the Bundesliga Top Goal scorer in 2006–07. He was also the top scorer in 2010 World Cup Qualifiers UEFA section.
