Michalis Sifakisimage:Michalis Sifakis |Michalis Sifakis Michalis Sifakis is a Greek international goalkeeper who stands six feet one inches tall. Born in Heraklion in Greece, Michalis started playing football at an early age of nine. Atsalenious Herakliou was his first football team.

Michalis was called for the Greece national under-21 football team in 2004. He played in almost 15 games with the under 21 football team. By 2009, Otto Rehhagel, the national team coach of Greece invited him to help the national football team qualify for the South Africa FIFA World Cup in 2010. By 14 October, Michalis contributed to the victory of the team against Luxembourg.

The teams for whom he played professional football include Olympiacos from 2007 to 2008 and OFI from 2002-07.

=== Career Highlights ===

Michalis was awarded with the Fair Play Award by the Greek Professional Players Association in 2009 for his ethos and professionalism. It was due to his non-violent reaction and calmness to a confrontation with a fan in the opening game held in 2009-20 Greek season at Iraklis. During this tournament, Michalis was approached by an irate fan who had run onto the pitch and bean to verbally abuse him. However, Michalis did not react and after the intervention of stewards who removed the fan from the pitch did the match continue.
