Edgar Gonzalez

Edgar Daniel Gonzalez Britez, a football midfielder from Asuncian, began playing professional football in 2000. Gonzalez joined Club Guarani and stayed there till 2005, and played in over 110 games, with 12 goals to his credit.During his time with Club Guarani, Gonzalez was loaned out to Deportivo Recoleta in 2002, where he played 15 matches, but did not score any goals.

After his stint with Club Guarani, Gonzalez played one season for Cerro Porteno, another Paraguayan club. He appeared in 42 games, but managed only a single goal in that duration. In June 2007, Gonzalez moved out of Paraguay, and into Argentina, to join up with Estudiantes de La Plata, his current club. After 15 appearances, Gonazalez figured the lack of opportunities and opted for a loan to Olimpia Asuncian, where he once again appeared in around 15 matches and scored one goal. The next season he once again opted to be loaned out, this time to the club he is currently playing for, Alianza Lima.

Gonzalez has also appeared for the Paraguayan national football team, since 2003 and has played in nearly 15 matches for them.
