António Alberto Bastos Pimparelimage:António Bastos Pimparel |António Bastos Pimparel or nicknamed as Beto was born in Lisbon in 1982. Standing five feet eleven inches tall, Beto is a Portuguese football player who presently plays for F.C. Porto team in the Portuguese first division as a goalkeeper.

Beto made his international debut on 10th June, 2009 for Portugal in a 0-0 friendly match held in Estonia. After he finished in Porto’s starting XI in 2009-10, he was named in a provisional 24 player list by Carlos Queiroz, the team manager for the FIFA World Cup 2010. He thus made the final cut for the finals in South Africa, where he did not leave the bench.

After Antonio unsuccessfully developed in the Sporting Clube de Portugal, (where he played one season with the first team, being the third choice), he played only one season on loan to neighbors Casa Pia AC, after being released in June 2004. After playing for one season each with F.C. Marco and G.D. Chaves, he joined Leixões Sport Club for 2006-07, and helped the Matosinhos to return to the top flight, missing six matches in his three seasons combined together.

It was on March 2009, prior to the end of the 2008-09 season that Beto moved to a league powerhouse team, F.C. Porto, in a four year deal which was worth 750.000 Euros effective from June.
