Kornel Saláta

Kornel Salátaimage:Kornel Saláta |Kornel Saláta is a Slovakia football defender who presently plays for SK Slovan Bratislava team and also for the Slovakia national football team. Born in Kamenica nad Hronom, Kornel stands six feet three inches tall and his main playing positions are that of Center back and Defensive midfielder positions.

On 24 May 2008, he made his national team debut against Switzerland in a friendly match. Later on, he played two qualification matches for the FIFA World Cup in 2010. The same year, he got selected for the FIFA World Cup 2010.

His career started professionally in Sturovo and from 2005-06 season he played for Matador Puchov making 29 appearances and scoring four goals. Kornel appeared in 49 matches and scored 9 goals from 2006 to 2009 for the Artmedia Pirtrzalka team. From 2007, he is playing for Banska Bystrica team on loan basis and has made 17 appearances scoring 4 goals. From 2009 onwards, he is with the Slovan Bratislava team, and till date has appeared in 37 matches and scored 4 goals. Moreover, from 2008 he is also playing for the Slovakia national football team making 8 appearances till now.
