Jose Sanfilippo, born on 4 May 1935, is a former Argentine footballer (soccer). He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. On the field he served as a Striker. He is one of the top scorers in Argentine football history and is also known for being a very polemic player.
He began his career at the age of 18 when he joined San Lorenzo. There he set a record for being the top scorer for the Argentine League for four seasons in a row. This spanned from 1958 to 1961. In 1958, he scored 28 goals, 31 goals in 1959, 34 goals in 1960, and 26 goals in 1961.
He moved to playing for the Boca Juniors in 1963. During his stay with the club, he was the top scorer in the Copa Libertadores where he scored seven goals in seven games. In his career for Boca, he played 27 games where he scored 14 goals. In 1969, he played for EC Bahia where he was once again a top scorer with 46 goals.

After Boca, Sanfilippo played for Banfield in Argentina and for Nacional in Uruguay. In 1972, he returned to San Lorenzo where he played with the squad that won Nacional championships and the Metropolitano.
After his return to San Lorenzo, he played for Club Atletico San Miguel in the 4th Division. He retired in 1978. By the end of his career Sanfilippo had scored 226 in 330 games. He is the 5th highest scorer in the Argentine Primera.
