Legia Warsaw are flying both domestically and in the Europa League and they can seal their place in the knockout phase of the latter with a win on Thursday.

The Poles have been triumphant in each outing this season by a 1-0 score line and now face Metalist on home soil having beaten their upcoming opponents in Ukraine a fortnight ago.

It was Ondrej Duda that was the goal-scoring hero when the pair last met and that victory for Legia followed equally narrow wins over Trabzonspor and Lokeren in Europa League Group L.

Legia qualified in the summer with a comfortable 3-0 aggregate win over Aktobe and it is now five consecutive matches in this competition without conceding a goal.

That is some achievement, especially given how badly the Polish side struggled in this last term, and Metalist are massively up against it after an atrocious start to the new campaign.

It is three defeats in as many matches, two of which have come in Kharkiv, and motivation must be lacking with a seemingly hopeless task to qualify facing Ihor Rakhayev’s men.

Metalist are languishing in the Premier League too, down in eighth place having picked up maximum points just three times in their opening 10 matches, and Thursday’s hosts are attractively priced at 7/10.

Those odds are already proving popular and quite rightly if you look at the two side’s respective form.

Legia have tasted victory in nine of their last 11 matches at the Pepsi Arena, drawing the other two, and Metalist are seemingly be there for the taking.
