Moyes hungry for new signings as Bayern confirm Lewandowski

In the aftermath of an embarrassing 3rd round exit in the FA Cup in front of a tearful home crowd, David Moyes has admitted that the Red Devils need new players to save their season.

Manchester United fans have seen their season descend from bad to worse and with stalwart players such as Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie nowhere near full fitness, the team has suffered a severe dip this season.

The defense has been lackluster at times. However, the main cause for concern is the midfield. There is a lack of flair and creativity out wide and in the middle of the park. There is not one player who has the eye for a killer pass sans Michael Carrick, who has found life difficult under David Moyes.

Additionally, there is no clear ball winner in the team as well. Tom Cleverley is a case in point. The lad has bundles of energy and can run for an eternity, but the manner in which he uses the ball is clearly not up to the mark and he is no good at winning the ball back with some crunching tackles.

Darren Fletcher will take a while before the Scot gets back to full fitness and by that time, all dreams of a top 4 finish this season would have come to a sorry end for Manchester United.

Moyes and sources at United have clearly stated that the club are looking to bring in some quality players such as Marco Reus (Dortmund), Koke (Athletico Madrid), and Eliaquim Mangala (Porto). However, there are some serious doubts as to whether these targets would be attainable and whether they would be willing to move to a club that cannot guarantee Champions League football in the coming season.

In the meantime, European and World Club Champions Bayern Munich have confirmed the worst kept secret in football as Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski moves to the Bavarian giants at the end of the season on a free transfer.

Bayern tried to sign the Polish hitman at the start of the season but were rebuffed in their efforts by Dortmund, who had also lost Mario Gotze to the Bavarians in July. The move will strengthen Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich side considerably before the start of next season as Bayern aim to remain the best club side in Europe and the world.
