Patrice Evra wants to leave Manchester United

Manchester United is currently going through a rough phase.

Manchester United is currently going through a rough phase. Results are not going their way, players and managers are having tiffs and the supporters and players miss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Over and above all these issues, club captain Patrice Evra has dropped a bombshell, he could be leaving.

It is believed that on French television Evra hinted that he is considering leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract which is set to come to an end at the end of the next season.

He is obviously very precious to United and hence they are unwilling to part with the vast amount of experience he brings to the team. The 32-year-old has spent the last seven seasons at Old Trafford and during which time he won five Premier League medals and one UEFA Champions League crown.

David Moyes was however in the market for a couple of high profile left-backs Leighton Baines being one of them and Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao the other. If any of them do come to United, then Evra may be the one making way.

With these rumours picking up Moyes may have to start a hunt and pick up a replacement in the January transfer window.

Speculation suggests that Evra may be tempted to return and play his last few years of football in France with Monaco or Paris St Germain reported to be his preferred choice.

Evra has not given any affirmative news on what his next move will be, but it seems that his future lies outside of England.

Well, there is news that when he was questioned about his contract expiry date he bluntly replied, “No, not at all. It is a personal thing. It is not that Manchester United do not want me to sign a new contract. Manchester United would like me to finish my career there, but this is something personal.”
