Benitez: Man Utd Win Was 'Massive'

Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has labelled his side’s 1-0 victory away to champions Manchester United as massive as they strive to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has labelled his side’s 1-0 victory away to champions Manchester United as massive as they strive to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

The Blues, who are the reigning European champions, moved up to third with the win over United, one point ahead of Arsenal and three of Tottenham.

Chelsea’s next test is a clash with Spurs at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, with a Blues victory likely to seal their Champions League status.

“It (Tottenham) is another crucial game for us. If we can win we will be in the top four,” said Benitez.

“The three points against Manchester United are massive for us.”

Chelsea’s goal came in the 87th minute, with Phil Jones deflected in Juan Mata’s strike after some trickery from the Spaniard.

“He (Mata) is a great player. He has the game intelligence, ability and quality to make a difference and he did that,” Benitez said.
