Higuain: We Won't Let Barca Relax

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain says his side will continue to try to apply pressure to leaders Barcelona after closing the gap to 10 points with a 5-2 win over Real Mallorca on Saturday.

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain says his side will continue to try to apply pressure to leaders Barcelona after closing the gap to 10 points with a 5-2 win over Real Mallorca on Saturday.

Barca, who play Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, can move 13 points clear again, but Real made it six La Liga wins in a row after twice coming from behind again Mallorca.

Higuain netted a double, while there were also goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema.

“Our aim is to put pressure on Barcelona and not to let them relax for one second,” Higuain said.

“There is still a long way to go. We’re going to fight until the very end.

“I’m very happy. Mallorca are on a good run of form and took the lead twice, but we gritted our teeth and showed what type of football we can play.”
