Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp admits he is far from happy after his side slipped 17 points behind leaders Bayern Munich after a 1-1 draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday.

Mario Gotze earned Dortmund the lead with a 31st-minute penalty, but Gladbach - who finished fourth last term - hit back in the second half through Amin Younes. The result means the title is clearly out of reach for BVB.

“Over the 60 minutes we played a really good away game, but as the match wore on, we played less football and Gladbach came back into it,” Klopp said.

“There are worse things than drawing away from home, but we aren’t happy.”

There were claims for offside for Younes’ equaliser but Klopp played that down.

“There have been a few cases in football where this was called offside. But we switched off instead of playing on, and the ball was also twice deflected,” he said.

Dortmund now switch their attention to their midweek DFB-Pokal quarter-final against Bayern.

“It’s a completely different match. Today we enjoyed quite a lot of possession, especially in the first half,” he said.

“I’m sure that’s not going to be the case on Wednesday. We need to defend properly in Munich and take the chances we create.”
