Sweden will host Argentina on February 7, 2013 at the Friends Arena. The game is scheduled to commence at 1930 GMT.
Two of the world’s biggest names in football Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will face each other on the pitch in what promises to be a very entertaining 90 minutes of football. Both teams enter this game in good form having lost just one of their last six games.
Sweden has been in some scoring form having netted the ball eight times in their last two international fixtures, five of these goals coming from the boot of Ibrahimovic, four of which were against the English in a 4-2 rout. The final goal that was scored was a mind-boggling 40 yard overhead bicycle kick that flew into the net.
In the game previous to that the Swedes came from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 against the Germans in what was a real epic encounter.
Argentina can boast of a very strong forward line that has names such as Messi, Sergio Aguero and others in it. On their day they can rip open any defence with their sheer immense speed.
Argentina has been quite solid in defence as well conceding only five goals in their last six games. Lionel Messi has been in great form for both club and country netting 91 times last year, 13 of which were for his country.
Both managers will have a full roster to select from as none of them any major injury concerns to worry about.
Who will come out on top, tall and solid Ibrahimovic or the small, classy Messi? We will have to wait and watch.
