Manchester United has agreed to a deal with outstanding Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha believed to be worth up to £15 million.

The 20-year-old Palace attacker will ink a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Red Devils, but will initially be loaned back to the Eagles.

“I am delighted to be joining Manchester United. However, my focus for the next five months will be solely at Crystal Palace,” Zaha said.

He added: “I have been at Palace for more than 10 years, I will always love the club and I want to help get them back to the Premier League, particularly for the fans who have always been so good to me.”

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was chuffed with the move and said it continued the club’s history of developing talent.

“We like to sign players with potential,” Ferguson said.

“We develop players and that’s been proven many times. Hopefully the boy enjoys it here.”
