Holtby Agrees Spurs Deal

Tottenham have beaten London rivals Arsenal to a deal with Germany international and Schalke winger Lewis Holtby.

Tottenham have beaten London rivals Arsenal to a deal with Germany international and Schalke winger Lewis Holtby.

The 22-year-old, whose father is English, has agreed a deal to join Spurs next summer when his current contract with Schalke expires.

Arsenal have also been reportedly interested in Holtby, who announced late last month that he wouldn’t be re-signing with Schalke when his contract expires.

“We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Germany Under-21 captain Lewis Holtby to join the club in July from Bundesliga side Schalke, subject to a medical,” a Tottenham statement said.

Holtby has three senior caps for Germany and is his nation’s Under-21 captain too.
