AC Milan Ready For January Moves

AC Milan boss Max Allegri has admitted his side will enter the market during January’s transfer window after Saturday’s 4-2 loss to AS Roma left them in seventh spot in Serie A.

Allegri’s side are some 17 points behind leaders Juventus and out of contention for the Scudetto and have a tough UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie with Barcelona coming up too.

And Allegri said he would look to boost his squad as they strive to improve in the second half of the season.

“The club will certainly do something in the transfer window, but it’s not as if we were challenging for second place before this defeat,” Allegri said after the Roma loss.

Milan have been linked with Didier Drogba and Mario Balotelli although they insist they are not interested in the pair.

“I can assure you that Balotelli will not arrive,” Milan president Berlusconi told Sky Sport Italia.

He added: “Drogba? He is certainly a player we really like, but I think at that cost only the Arabian and Russian clubs can afford him. Who will arrive in January? I cannot say. Each time I talk about a player, the cost increases. Anyway there will be young players with perspectives for the future.”
